What is the UDO Archives Project?

Brochure pdfIn the fall of 2006, the UDO announced a partnership with the Ohio Historical Society to create a repository for documents and artifacts which preserve the history of the neighborhoods of the University District.

The UDO Archives Project is tasked with acquiring memorabilia from the university neighborhoods and donating these document and artifacts to the Ohio Historical Society to be archived. The Project also is tasked with devising programs and exhibitions using the archived material to make the public aware of the interesting and colorful history of the university neighborhoods.

What is the UDO Archives Committee going to do?

The UDO Archives Committee is gathering information on information of a historical nature on the university area. Information on the following topics is being sought:

  • area businesses, former businesses, business owners and business related events,
  • current and former residents of the area,
  • descendants of former residents,
  • area churches and organizations, current and former,
  • celebrity residents and former residents

How can I help the Archives Project?

What about things of great monetary value?

If you have historical items of perceived or actual significant monetary value, you may want to talk directly with the Ohio Historical Society or an appraiser of such items. "Click here" to learn more about understanding the monetary value of historical items.
