Indian

High Praise

Restaurant reviews once were strictly the product of local newspaper columnists. Today, thanks to the internet, or more specifically the blog, anyone with a passion for eating can become a food critic.

Jim Ellison, Becke Boyer, Heather Popio and Lisa Dillman each take their day to day experiences with food and record them for the world to see on their blogs.
Over the course of their travels throughout Columbus, the dining bloggers have published their praises for a number of unique University District restaurants including Alana's, The Blue Nile and The Japanese Oriental Restaurant.

You don't need a blog to express your feelings on your recent culinary experiences. There are also a number of online restaurant guides that provide information and reviews of local restaurants. Yelp is a well put together site that contains a large number of reviews of University District restaurants that were submitted by the restaurants customers. Look for the yelp symbol throughout our restaurant listings for available reviews.

Mad Mex

Gateway

University District residents have a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. Whether you fancy Indian or Ethiopian, Korean or Chinese, Mexican or Southwestern the University District has a variety of choices within walking distance of home.

The South Campus Gateway project has expanded dining options within the district by bringing to town a number of popular eateries including The Ugly Tuna Saloona (Florida), Mad Mex (Pennsylvania) and McFadden's (New York).

Blue Danube

...hold the tablecloth

While the district has its share of fine dining, the main stay of the University District is its straightforward no frills eateries. You would be hard pressed to find any Renoir prints hanging on their walls but a number of University District restaurants produce pizza, hot wings and sandwiches that rival the best anywhere.
