"In one year I broke four MacBook chargers. The fourth was my business partner's. After this we decided to create a solution - the first ever MacBook charger case. We entered the concept into a pitch competition at school and took home first place and $1500. From there we used the prize winnings to launch a Kickstarter campaign. While running the campaign we also won the Fisher College Undergraduate Business Plan Competition. The Kickstarter campaign raised over 31K from 860 backers in over 30 countries. Since then our product has entered the retail market and is being shipped around the world. Currently being sold in 81 countries worldwide! Every component in our supply chain is produced locally in central Ohio.
The University District is a community of culture, history and creative arts. It's a great location for innovation and opportunity. These are some of the reasons my business partners and I have decided to root into this area and continue the growth of Columbus' entrepreneurial/startup community. In addition, being close to the Ohio State University is a great benefit. We owe a lot of our success to the university and the resources it has provided us throughout our careers.
