Meet Kae Denino: the UDO Social Worker

Please welcome our newest team member, Kae Denino, LSW. Kae joined the outreach team as the lead clinician for the University District on May 1st.

Kae holds a Masters from New York University, a BA from Arizona State, and most recently earned a Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University. Kae’s career is bouquet of experience with a focus on advocating for people experiencing oppression.

She is a co-founder of Freedom a la Cart, a restaurant and catering company that employs and provides services for survivors of human trafficking, as well as a former probation officer.

She is also an experienced educator. Kae taught at Columbus State Community College for twenty years, and wrote for The Other Paper, where she was able to save STD funding for the state of Ohio.

Kae focuses on target outreach to people who are unhoused in the University District. As a provider through Southeast Healthcare, Kae provides connections to primary care, mental health, substance use disorder needs and the PATH housing program.

Kae also supervises Ohio State University Masters of Social Work Students who assist with street outreach as part of their program placement.

When she is not fighting oppression Kae loves to cook, garden, travel to foreign lands and spend time with family and friends.
