Meet Morgan Weininger!

Please help us welcome Morgan Weininger to the new University District Clinician role with Southeast Healthcare. This role is a collaborative effort between the University District Organization, The Ohio State University, and Southeast Healthcare.

Morgan is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University.  Her previously held positions at OSU East Hospital and COAAA with the City of Columbus have prepared her with interpersonal skills and knowledge of area resources. Morgan will focus on conducting consistent and targeted outreach towards people who are unhoused in the University District.  In addition, Morgan will be joined by social work students completing their field education requirement from OSU College of Social Work.  As a result of their outreach efforts, Morgan and the students will offer a connection to Southeast for primary care, mental health, substance use disorder needs and the PATH housing program. They will also offer food, clothing, hygiene, transportation assistance, referrals to non-emergent medical care, assistance with benefits applications and support obtaining placement at temporary shelters.

Morgan’s future initiatives include continuing to assist clients with linkage to permanent housing solutions and resources, coordinating potential ride-along opportunities with Columbus Police Department and creating opportunities for OSU students to assist and build empathy towards unhoused individuals in their community.
